Question 1

What ceiling height do I need for a golf simulator enclosure?

Accepted Answer

Minimum 9 feet ceiling height is recommended for most golfers. Taller golfers (6'2"+) or those with steep swings should have 10+ feet. Measure your swing height at the top of your backswing with your longest club to determine your specific needs.

Question 2

Should I build a DIY enclosure or buy a pre-built kit?

Accepted Answer

Pre-built enclosure kits offer easier installation, engineered safety, and often include warranties. DIY enclosures can save 30-50% in cost but require construction skills and careful planning. For safety-critical components like netting and screen mounting, consider professional-grade materials regardless of approach.

Question 3

How wide should my golf simulator enclosure be?

Accepted Answer

Minimum recommended width is 10 feet for comfortable swings. 12-15 feet is ideal, allowing room for both right and left-handed golfers and preventing claustrophobic feel. Wider enclosures also provide better camera angles for launch monitor positioning.
