Gaming laptop vs desktop for sim - portability worth it?

I already have a gaming laptop (RTX 3060, 16GB RAM, i7-11800H) that I use for work and gaming.

Should I use this for my sim or build a dedicated desktop?

Pros of using laptop:

• Already own it (free)
• Can use it for other things
• Portable if I ever move the sim

Cons:

• Might wear it out faster
• Less powerful than a desktop at same price
• One more thing to set up each session

What would you do in my situation?
