Wife approval factor - how did you convince your spouse?
Looking for success stories here. My wife thinks a golf sim is a ridiculous expense and waste of space.
How did you convince your significant other to let you build a sim?
Arguments I've tried:
- "It'll save money on range balls" (she did the math, didn't work)
- "I'll spend more time at home" (she doesn't seem to care)
- "It's good for my health" (eye roll)
- "We can do it together" (she doesn't golf)
What actually worked for you? I'm desperate here. Christmas bonus is burning a hole in my pocket.

What worked for me: I showed her the spreadsheet comparing my golf spend WITHOUT the sim (green fees, range balls, lessons, gear) vs WITH the sim.
Over 3 years, the sim actually saves money. Plus I'm home more instead of spending 5 hours at the course every weekend.
Negotiate a trade! What does she want that you've been putting off?
"If I build a golf sim, you can redo the bathroom" worked for my buddy. Win-win.
My wife was skeptical until I showed her TopGolf Swing Suite. The party games and non-golf games (carnival games, zombie shooting) won her over.
Now she uses it more than I do for the non-golf stuff lol.
