Mat positioning for lefty AND righty use?

My wife is a lefty and I'm a righty. We want to share the sim space but I'm not sure how to set up the mat.
Do we need two mats? Or is there a good way to position one mat that works for both?
Currently looking at the Fiberbuilt Hourglass which seems like it might work for both orientations. Anyone have experience with this setup?
Our space is 10ft wide so we have some room to work with.
