SkyTrak vs Mevo+ for indoor only - which would you pick?
I've been going back and forth on this for weeks and I need some real world opinions. Budget is around $2,000 and I'm ONLY using this indoors in my basement. Never taking it outside.
Space is 10ft wide x 16ft deep with 9ft ceilings.
I keep reading that camera-based (SkyTrak) is better indoors while radar (Mevo+) is better outdoors. But then some people say Mevo+ works great indoors too?
Main priorities:
- Accurate spin numbers (especially wedges)
- Works well with GSPro
- Reliable - don't want constant connectivity issues
What would you pick in my shoes?

I have both and here's my honest take:
SkyTrak Pros:
- More accurate spin indoors
- Rock solid reliability
- Great software ecosystem
Mevo+ Pros:
- Works better with practice sessions outside
- Video integration is cool
- Slightly cheaper
For your use case (indoor only), I'd go SkyTrak without hesitation. The camera-based system just works better in a controlled environment.
I went with the Mevo+ and regret it for indoor use. The radar just isn't as reliable when you're hitting into a net 8-10 feet away.
The doppler needs to track the ball longer to get accurate reads. SkyTrak captures everything at launch so it doesn't matter how far the ball goes.
If I could do it over, SkyTrak for indoor, Mevo+ for outdoor or mixed use.
With your 16ft depth you should be fine with either honestly. The Mevo+ needs 8ft behind the ball minimum and at least 6-8ft of ball flight to work well.
At your dimensions, I'd factor in other things like software preference. What are you planning to run?
GSPro works great with both units. One thing to consider - the SkyTrak has been around longer so there's way more troubleshooting info and community support out there.
When I had issues with my SkyTrak, I found the solution in about 10 minutes of searching. With newer units, you might be on your own more.
Just want to add - I've been using a SkyTrak+ for 6 months and the connectivity has been flawless. WiFi direct connection to my PC, never had a dropout.
I've heard older SkyTrak units had more connectivity issues but the newer ones seem solid.
